I really like your quote. The way we treat children is so powerful in their development. As a 37 year old, I still remember the ways that my teachers made me feel. In particular, there was a 3rd grade teacher that I had who was my cheerleader. She inspired me to become a teacher. Then, I remember one of my 8th grade teachers who singled me out in front of the whole class when I was having difficulty with a skill. I do not remember much I learned in that class but I remember feeling inadequate. This reminds me to be careful and treat each child with respect!
